Good morning. I hope you have thoroughly scrubbed your computers of all the email and websites that the FBI wants to use to prove that you, too, have contributed to the dastardly lefty plot to take over the country and make it safe for people to vote for the candidate of their choice.
I’ve seen at least one suggestion that we email our email folders (in Outlook, that would be the .pst file) to James Comey so that he can check through those emails just to be certain that nothing nefarious from Hillary Clinton is lurking in those folders as well. My file is well over 6GB in size (well, I have problems getting through and deleting all those Nigerian Prince emails) so it might take their computers a couple of minutes to determine whether those emails are from the Nigerian Prince or fundraising emails from Hillary (send in $5 and have a chance to have dinner with her...)
This morning I’m going to be taking some time to deliver some fresh smoked pork shoulder done up in pulled pork style to a Democratic field office over by Sloan’s Lake. I had hoped to hear of one close by, but that’s the one I was told about by Senator Aguilar and the state Democratic office never got back to me to tell me where there was an office close by. This year I’ve donated some money to various candidates in and outside of Colorado, but I haven’t done the door-to-door canvassing, phone banking or other in-person contact stuff. For some reason, that’s just not how I’m contributing. However, I can BBQ so overnight tonight the smoker is going and I’ll have it ready for the office as they go through the day tomorrow. It should be a bit of a lighter day; the Broncos will shut down the public outreach portion from about 2-5:30 or so, but I’m sure there will still be plenty of data entry and other activities going on.
What are you folks doing today, this coming week and do you have any interesting stories you care to share? I had to talk a friend back in off the ledge this afternoon — he had heard that Hillary was indicted and he wanted to know what would happen if a presidential candidate actually was indicted. I explained to him that they probably wouldn’t be elected, but if they were, they could be impeached. I explained the vast difference between what Comey said in his letter and what the reports on DailyKos are saying about what actually is known (nothing, since they don’t have subpoenas to look at the emails and there’s no information yet about how many emails, from whom, whether they’re actually legitimate or planted, etc, as well as the actual various court cases that Trump has going on that are real, with court dates set, as compared to imaginary. My friend already has his ballot turned in anyway — the joys of vote early by mail, so it wasn’t difficult to talk him down. Hopefully he calms down the rest of his family who are freaking out so much it started freaking him out.
