Well, what’s going on in Colorado? I’ve been in Kansas for over a week — I’ve spent half of April and all of May so far here looking after my father. As a result, I missed the Caffeinating Liberally downtown prior to the Science March (I hear it was wet, but wasn’t there to know for certain) and I was only back in Denver long enough to have snow dumped on top of me and then back to Kansas.
I saw that Mike Coffman was basically chosen by national Republicans as one of those whose seat was most endangered because he was allowed to vote against the AHCA — had even two more Republicans voted against it the vote would have been tied, and they couldn’t have that. Who is going to be challenging Coffman next time around? Democrats have put up some good candidates and still not been able to bump him off.
Has Cory Gardner had lots of protests at his offices or expressed his opinion on AHCA? I will bet he’ll stay in line with national Republicans. How about Michael Bennet? I actually think he’s more likely to vote with the opposition than Gardner is. Maybe I’m being unfair, but he did vote with them for cloture on Gorsuch for USSC and that was wrong of him.
Any local or state races that you’re involved in? Let us all know what’s up. Thanks.
Oh, and yes, I did miss last week’s issue — I would still love to have a rotation so I’m not the only one writing these.
