I didn’t make it to the Women’s March in Denver on Saturday.  I was up half the night with my sick wife and sick woozle.  I hope you made it to a march this past weekend and have some stories and photos to share.

This Saturday will be the next Caffeinating Liberally at Common Grounds Coffeeshop, 44th and Vallejo in Denver, 9AM till noonish.  If any of you in other areas have a gathering on a regular or even one-time basis, I’d be happy to post a note about it here.  You might just get a new friend dropping in.

One of our friends, Joe Zemek, is the campaign manager for Michael Kiley who is running a people-powered campaign for state HD4.  This district is in NW Denver, basically bordered on the west by Sheridan, on the east by Federal (in some places a few blocks to the east), on the north by the Denver county line with Adams county and on the south it goes a few blocks south of Alameda.  If you’d like to help and get involved, the website is kileyforcolorado.com.  If any of you are volunteering for, or working for, any candidate at any level, please let me know and I’ll be happy to publicize your candidate and you for being involved.

As I write this, I have employed a local fellow to shovel my driveway and sidewalk during Sunday’s storm.  I could do this myself, but he came knocking at my door last year to do this and I’m spreading some money into the community (and saving myself some effort).  This week’s poll will be on whether you shovel your own walks.

The next couple of weeks will be placeholder Open Threads.  I’ll return with a fresh perspective on February 12th and hopefully share some new insights and maybe some pictures with you.
