This is a weekly feature of North Carolina Blue. We hope this regular platform gives readers interested in North Carolina politics a place to share their knowledge, insight and inspiration as we work on taking back our state from some of the most extreme Republicans in the nation. Please join us every week as we try to Connect, Unite and Act with our North Carolina Daily Kos community. You can also join the discussion in four other weekly State Open Threads.

In Asheville, one of my favorite places to get work done is the FedEx shop in Biltmore Village. They offer great printing and shipping services. As long as FedEx supports the NRA I can no longer do business with this store or the other one on Patton Ave.
On Friday I called the Biltmore store and in a kind voice told the manager I would no longer be doing business with him until FedEx removes its association with the NRA. I told him I was sorry to have to do this because it will have a negative impact on my business but that I had no moral choice.
I also told him that if FedEx was the only shipping method for an online product I was trying to purchase, I would find another vendor.
I assured him it was nothing personal against the local establishment or its workers but that I had to make a stand and that I was encouraging many others to do the same.
And that is why I’m writing to you today. If you are so inclined, please give local FedEx’s a call. And BE NICE.
