But I just returned from my first trip to the Caribbean, so I hope you’ll excuse me on several counts—first, for not being quite ready to adjust to our cold and gray, and second, for not having a post in the can already for tonight.
It’s a relatively simple set of questions, however, that I have for you. When shall we meet next, for the three Michigan groups that already exist? Or subgroups thereof, if that works better for all? And what shall we have for our agenda? (Personally, I’m thinking in January 2016, but I could be persuaded to meet earlier. And discussing organizing on the ground, but that too could be altered.)
This time two years ago, we were starting into a major state election year. A non-Presidential one, to be sure, but definitely a consequential one for us in Michigan, and not to our benefit.
What can WE do now to prepare ourselves to keep MI blue for the Presidential election, and to flip the MI state House in 2016? I know you have lots of ideas; let’s hear them. Some of them may well be best hashed out in person, over food and drink.
Many thanks for coming by and sharing your meeting preferences & organizing strategies.
An important PS: I hope that you’ve taken the time to read this recent diary: Crowdsourcing the 50-State Strategy: How Your Expertise Can Help Change an Election. We have MANY skilled folks available in this state, too; how can we best coordinate our efforts?
