The Colorado State Open Thread is published on Mondays around 7PM when I get the chance to do so.  We are a place to share news, events, musings and any other issue with fellow people interested in the great state of Colorado, whether you live here or not.

If anyone would like to contribute a piece for this column, I welcome your input.  Just either email it to me or ask me how you can do so and I’ll write you back the few general guidelines that have been developed over the decades.

Today, I thought I’d send you a few notes from the other side of the aisle.  I signed up for all of our US Congressional Reps’ emails just to get an idea what the other side has to say before we vote them out of office.

From Representative Tipton, he detailed his visit back to the district over the last couple of weeks.  He toured around the district, speaking with various law enforcement and other officials about the rural nature of the district leading to problems with Meth users, as well as last year’s fire that burned Costilla and Huerfano counties last year.  He met with various agency officials to discuss proactive forest management, damage mitigation and flood concerns.  I wonder if they discussed using brooms to sweep the forest floor.

From Representative Doug Lamborn, a statement on Title X.  Basically, regulations bad, everyone’s doing well and no need to have government interfere.
