The Colorado State Open Thread is published most Mondays at 7PM Mountain time. I say “most” Mondays because last week, due to technical issues, I didn’t get it posted. I do wish I had some additional writers who could step in and post something — anything. Until that day, you’ll just have to deal with my ramblings.
Meteor Blades asked this morning in a diary about whether people know their state level legislature representatives and senators, so I decided to help Coloradoans find some links to help you know your folks.
From the state legislature website, they have made it as easy as can be. leg.colorado.gov/… You can search by your address or your district — just put the information in the search bar at the top of the map. That’s all it takes.
My Representative is Minority Whip Perry Buck and her territory covers Larimer and Weld counties. Yuck.
My Senator is Rob Woodward, another Republican, though his territory is only Larimer county.
I went from having my state senator being my neighbor and my state representative being someone who would say “Hello” to me in the grocery store and come over for open houses for Kossacks (both Democrats) to two Republicans. I hope we can get that changed. At least my US Representative is Joe Neguse, a Democrat who has held multiple local town halls in the first six months in office.
