Colorado State Open Thread, 10/14/2019. Netroots Nation 2020 reminder

The Colorado State Open Thread is published nearly every Monday evening at nearly 7PM local time.  If you want to talk any/all things Colorado, this is the place to come to.  If you’d like to write this blog post occasionally, please let me know.

The Netroots Nation convention is coming to Denver next August 13-15th.  It will be held in the Convention Center downtown, and being an election year, truly one of the most important in my lifetime, perhaps surpassed only by 2016 which went the absolute wrong way, we will be seeing many national figures not only on panels but walking around to get their names, faces and opinions onto blog posts.

I am hopeful that there will be many Kossacks present (the Daily Kos kind, not the Russian troll-bot kind), so if you’ve wanted to meet any of your blog heroes, please consider attending.  If you can do so, please take a look at the registration page and realize the early bird registration will end in just two weeks, and it’s worth $200 or so to register this early.  There are two other categories for registration that are even cheaper — a “Youth/Student” registration which includes college students for $117, and a “Local” registration for $257.  Just what exactly makes someone a “Local” isn’t spelled out.  I wonder if Estes Park is considered “Local”?  Maybe if you’re not renting a room, they’d consider you local, but I’ve known plenty of people who rent rooms for local conventions because they want to get away from home for a weekend and they split the cost several ways with friends.

I would really like it if there were a Colorado Kossack meeting area, so not only can we meet the folks we’ve seen online or at some of our meetups, but also to see if we can recruit some new writers and faces.  What do you think?

Please let us know how much snow you got in the comments.  It was about eight inches up here in Estes.

My sister’s car is normally in a garage.  Oh well...
