Not asking for personal identifiable information, just things that you would feel willing to reveal.
The Colorado State Open Thread is dedicated to those who have an interest in an artificially drawn square(ish) territory on the third planet out from Sol, our jointly enjoyed star out on an arm of our Milky Way galaxy. This territory is named for the color red, or so the story goes. Out my window, I see lots of green, some gray, yellow in the clouds as the star sets over the horizon, and even some light blue.
I’ve always been curious where people get their handles (Daily Kos monikers) from. Mine comes from the fact that I’ve lived in Colorado for over half my life, now, and in the non-Kos world, my name is Tim. I wanted people to know my name and also my general location, so that’s why my handle is ColoTim. I know there are myriad reasons for people’s handles, from their actual, meatspace names to favorite fictional characters, favorite places, random keyboard spellings, and all manner of things. If you’d like to share some part of, or all of your origin story (yes, I was watching Ironman 3 before coming to write this Open Thread), I’d love to read what you write. Yes, I do know within the last couple of years there have been meta posts about how people came up with their names that invited all Kosacks to contribute, but I’d really be curious about our Colorado Open Thread readers.
If you have other things you’d like to write about, like the Coloradans filing suit to keep Trump off the ballot in Colorado, or the success of those hated Buffalos who play for the University of Colorado, instead of the beloved Ramikins who play for the honorable university in Fort Collins and who are playing each other this weekend at Folsom Field, or the arrival of cool, wet weather including snow on top of the peaks, or the sad memories of what has happened on 9/11 in the past, well, the floor is yours...
PS — should answers in polls always be capitalized, never capitalized after the first word, randomly filled with capital and lower-case letters, or some other combination as the mood strikes?
